Michael graduated from Colby College, Waterville, Maine, and did postgraduate work in printmaking at the School of the Museum of
Fine Arts, Boston, and Univ. of Hartford Art School. He has worked as an art director for several advertising agencies in the Hartford, Connecticut area, including Smith, Dorian &
Berman and Mintz & Hoke, before starting his own design firm in New Hampshire.
By the time he sold his agency in 1993,
it had grown to a staff of fourteen and billings of several million dollars annually. In 1994, he partnered with John Decker
to create several award-winning ad campaigns for clients such as Blizzard Skis, ThinQ and the New Hampshire Partnership for a
Drug Free America.
