Bensonwood Homes

Tedd Benson began the revival of timber frame homes in America in 1974. As the guru of his industry, his company is known for building the finest timber frame homes and structures in the world. For 30 years, their marketing efforts consisted of referrals, their highly touted craftsmanship as featured on the TV show “This Old House” and the numerous books on the subject that Tedd has published over the years.

When Bensonwood embarked (along with MIT) on a new effort to revolutionize home building through a process known as open building, they engaged Decker Marketing Communications to create a marketing strategy, print and TV advertising, direct marketing and a new website. The goal: To promote sales of their timber frame homes, while building awareness that open building will revolutionize the way homes are built.

With the complete marketing plan, including underwriting of This Old House, new print ads and a new website in place, Bensonwood received more inquiries in the month of January than at any time in the last 5 years. A remarkable achievement in a housing market that is down 15% nationwide.
